Hello! Rife Magazine ceased publishing new work in July 2022.

We've kept the magazine online as an archive and hope you'll still continue to enjoy all of its contributions from the last 8 years.

Pick of the Week: Urban Arts Space Filmmaking Course

Rife Guide Picks of the Week

Find out what’s on the Rife Guide this week, including a 10 week Filmmaking Course at The Station.

Do you consider yourself a bit of a film buff?

Are you often tired because you choose to stay up late and watch films instead of getting your beauty sleep? Do you consider yourself a bit of a film buff? Or maybe you don’t know the first thing about film but you’ve always fancied getting behind the camera and seeing what’s going on at the other side?

Here’s a fantastic chance to make your own debut into the world of filmmaking. Join the Urban Arts Space 10 week Filmmaking course, and maybe you will be in the next Oscars selfie? Head down to The Station every Monday night to work with a professional filmmaker on a weekly basis. Approaching it from all angles, you will work with a group of people your age to direct, produce and edit your own film. And of course after all of that hard work your film will be showcased in a final screening.

But don’t worry if you want to get involved but feel a bit unsure about what to make. You will learn about a range of film genres to get your creative juices flowing, and a range of filmmaking techniques to get you started.

The course is for ages 13-16, and you can book through Eventbrite

If you want to get creative but filmmaking maybe isn’t your thing, then check out Urban Arts Space courses in music production, fashion and photography. All of them give you the amazing opportunity to not only make new friends, learn new skills and have fun, but the chance to complete a Bronze Arts Award.

The filmmaking course is happening every Monday from 5-7pm at The Station. The 10-week course costs £50 but there are free places too, so just ask. The course is for ages 13-16, and you can book through Eventbrite

Are you going to check Urban Arts Space courses? Or are you too busy doing getting creative elsewhere? Give us a shout and less us know on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.
